fruit loop treats

So I've been stealing recipes left right and centre this week!! I'm not sure if I'm on a sugar hit / high but I seem to be focused on sweet treats! I was blog stalking as usual and Harry my eldest loves to sit on my lap and watch the pictures as they fly by.

Harry yelled " Stop !! that looks awesome!!!" so I decided to post it. The trouble is I totally forgot where I got this from!! I'm soooo sorry to the amazing person who did this awesome post!

Lunch  box treats will be good this week!!!!

They take 5 minutes to make, in your microwave (or you can use a saucepan on the stove).

NOTE: I doubled the recipe to fill one large jelly roll pan (cookie sheet).

FRUIT LOOP TREATS

1/4 cup butter (1/2 a cube)
1 package small marshmallow (or about 6 cups)
8 cups of cereal
Microwave the marshmallows and butter in a large bowl for 2 minutes till melted and stir it up.  Some of the butter may not mix-in all the way.  No worries.
• Pour in the cereal and mix
• Spread it on cookie sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick spray or butter.  Spray a little on your hands to help spread it around without getting sticky goo all over you.
• Refrigerate till ready to serve

Move over Caramel Slice!!!

ok ok I haven't posted but I felt compelled to post after I had so many requests for a recipe of a slice I posted on Instagram.

It is my new challenge. I want to make it and make it look like this

Can it get any better than this?

OK so I stole the recipe from Some Girls Recipes.
So here you are my friends. I'd love to know if you made it and how it turned out! Drop me a little comment!!!

Makes one 9×13 pan

 Choc Caramel Nougat Slice

Bottom Chocolate Layer 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter

Line your pan with aluminum foil and leave an overhang. Thoroughly grease foil. Melt ingredients together in the microwave for 30 seconds and then 10 second intervals until completely melted, careful not to burn. Pour into the baking dish and spread until even. Let cool and harden completely.
Nougat Layer 1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup salted peanuts chopped, roughly chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add in sugar and milk, stirring until dissolved and bring to a boil. Let cook for 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Add in fluff, peanut butter and vanilla, stirring until smooth. Turn off heat and fold in peanuts, then pour over bottom chocolate layer. Let cool completely.
Caramel layer 1 14-ounce bag of caramels
1/4 cup whipping cream

Combine ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Let melt, stirring occasionally, until smooth – this took about 10 minutes for me. Pour over nougat layer and let cool completely.
Top Chocolate Layer 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter

Melt ingredients together in microwave, then pour over caramel and spread until even. Let cool and harden completely.

Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving, then cut as desired. These can stay at room temperature, but they do get gooey. I like them refrigerated best!

What I want for Mother's Day

From the archives!!!

I was doing my traditional nightly blog stalk when I stumbled across this post by Fat Mum Slim

What do we really want for Mother's Day? This poster says all the things I was thinking!!

I love having time as a family on Mother's Day. It gets a little tricky as we grow up and have families of our own! So I decided that it is a Mother's Day Weekend! I do my mum on the Saturday, Hubby does his Mum too and we have a great day together on the Sunday after church!

A flower for my hair given to me by my Jules. He picked it from outside and gave it to me while I was cooking dinner. Time to stop cooking and embrace the photo shoot!! Memories like this last a lifetime.....the dinner can wait!!
Can you see I'm a little excited!!! hahahahaha

The funny thing about Mother's Day is that as the childrn get older they are able to express themselves  about why they love you!! My last card from my Harry said.."you are a great encourager!!!' It made me laugh..what a word to use!!! Harry has stashed his mother's day present from the Mother's Day stall at school somewhere and is itching to give it to me!! He even asked if he could give it to me tonight! Knowing my husband I better leave it to Sunday as it may be all I get!!!

I joked on radio today about how much a love the material things that I get on Mother's Day but the truth is I'm just feel happy and blessed that I have three people who call me Mum each and everyday! They make me laugh, cry, smile, shake my head and shrug my shoulders!! The emotions and gratefulness that I feel towards them can never amount to ANY present brought from the shops!!!

I hope your day is filled with a kiss, a hug and a little prayer of thanks to the big man upstairs!!!
Have a great weekend!!

Happy Mothers Day Mum!!!

where does time go?

Let's put it out there....this was not me today!!!

I felt a bit more like this...juggling..!

It looked a bit like this!!!!

and ended like this!!!!

Today a sat down to 'try' and begin the task of my husbands book work! What a job with little children? How do women stay at home and work out of there homes?!!

I was distracted by the children to no end..." can I have a drink?" " My movie finished!" " I'm hungry" and the occasional bust up of the sibling fighting! I was exhusted before I even opened Myob!

Hats off to all the Mummies that try to make a living at home! You are amazing! I have no idea how you do it day in and out!

I am however not a work at home chick. I stumbled across a few terrible habits that emerged as I began to type away on the computer. My posture is terrible at the computer. I didn't realise this because a quick blog post is nothing to a full day at the computer desk! I am sore!!!

I also found that I consumed far too many cups of coffee and tea! shocking!
I have to admit that the TV became my babysitter and i think I yelled a few more times than usual.

So all up it was a terrible attempt to juggle work and kids. All I can say is that preschool is a great place for parents that need to get stuff done. Not only do the kids get a rich and fulfilled day of social interactions and educational development.....Mummies get their work done!! When Mummy is happy, the house is happy!!

So off to preschool the kids go tomorrow...Pity my work won't get done though.
I'M THE PRESCHOOL TEACHER!!! aahhhh!!!

Sunday, May 6

Today I am searching for inspiration to tackle my kids bedrooms. I had grand dreams of moving house and getting a room each for them. Unfortunately things haven't yet worked out that way so I'm making lemonade out of lemons!

I have decided to re decorate using what I have. ! The biggest problem is that I am getting my youngest kids to share and they are boy and girl! Making this room look organised, neat and acceptable for both genders will be a challenge. So here the journey begins. I would love to do a day make over (I've been watching too much TV!) but it will progress over time....a LONG time! I'm pretty busy so it may be a long task but I am committed!

So i'm starting with blog stalking and ideas brainstorming.....

a bike ride anyone?

Today was a great day to get outdoors and enjoy the sun amd wind!!! My little treasures went to preschool while Harry and I had some quality time. The day was his to spend as he wanted! The first thing on the agenda  was a bike ride with mum!

I am usually putting my hand up to babysit the little ones while my husband and Harry ride! But today Harry wanted his Mum to enjoy the experience!

I seriously need more cardio workouts!! My little boy had to wait for his mum!!! hahhaha He even suggested to carry the back pack so it would be easier for me!!??!! Gotta love him!!!

I do feel better for the experience and I felt that I worked off a little chocolate!!

Until next time..!!!
I think I'm going to have a little lie down!! lol
